The non-profit Elena Berezkina Foundation for the Support of Visual Arts "ERA" was launched in 2006. The Foundation is aimed at promoting the development of Russian contemporary art, at establishing international art connections and at promoting the implementation of creative initiatives in art, research and education.

    The Foundation gives support to projects in the following fields:

  • Research in contemporary Russian art;
  • Implementation of programs supporting the development of contemporary visual arts.
    The Foundation's main activities are:

  • Organising thematic and personal exhibitions both at its own gallery space and other venues in Russia and abroad;
  • Organising and carrying out charity events;
  • Organising discussions and seminars, workshops, film and video screenings;
  • Organising lectures for adults and children;
  • Collecting art works by contemporary Russian and international artists;
  • Publishing catalogues of exhibitions, analytical texts, video recording of lectures and other events held by the Foundation.

The Foundation has a specific interest in the themes of motherhood, childhood and continuity in art and culture. We approach the sociological, psychological and philosophical questions connected with the theme of childhood as a subject of discourse and experiment.

Many of the Foundation's projects are realised in partnership with the government institutions and privately-funded cultural establishments, charity foundations, independent curators and galleries.
